How to get the Breslau Blade ‘Statue Sword’ in Dying Light: The Beast

The “statue sword” in Dying Light: the Beast, also known as the Breslau Blade, is a one-handed legendary weapon. Not only is this machete the perfect tool to dispose of zombies, but it’s also available in early game — if you know where to look.

Here’s how to get the Breslau Blade by making the Town Hall statue drop its sword in Dying Light: The Beast.

Ever noticed the statue of the naked fellow on the north side of the Town Hall square? You can claim the sword he’s holding, but you need to destroy nine crests first. Here’s where to find the statue:

The nine crests, small decorative stone plates depicting a beaver, are all found around the Town Hall Square. Although you could break some of them with a melee weapon, most are out of reach, so you’ll need a gun or crossbow to hit these crests. If a crest doesn’t break, you may have to upgrade your weapon or find a stronger one. For me, two or three melee hits, two crossbow hits, or one shotgun hit was enough to destroy a crest. Beware that loud gunshots will alert volatile zombies, so be prepared for a fight!

To find the first three crests, look towards the statue. You’ll see one crest on the statue itself, and one on each side of the yellow building:

To spot the next four crests, stand behind the statue and look towards the Town Hall. There’s another crest on the statue itself, one on the Town Hall’s lower wall, another above the Town Hall entrance, and another high up the building:

That last crest is probably the most difficult to reach. If you don’t have a long-range weapon, you can use the tour car with the red roof to jump up the buildings to the right, then climb to the Town Hall’s higher ledge from there.

To find the final two crests, turn your back to the statue. There’s one on the wall in the southwest corner, and another on the small bridge house.

With no more beaver crests left in Dying Light: The Beast, interact with the statue’s plate — the one that says “Castor Woods, Undefeated Fighter.” A bunch of fireworks will go off, after which you can climb the statue and claim the Breslau Blade. Besides the legendary machete itself, you will unlock the Breslau Blade’s blueprint so you can craft more at the workshop.
